Tell us a bit more about the business you represent.

Dreamix is a bespoke software development company. We are Java experts that can build your product from scratch or dig deep and optimize your legacy system.

Dreamix was founded in 2006. We are based in Bulgaria, but we have employees in the UK, Turkey, and Macedonia. The business is entirely bootstrapped, which gives us the autonomy for innovation that results in amazing service offerings. We are a hybrid workplace—everyone can work from home or in the office, and it is up to them to decide.

Being the CEO, what do your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

My day-to-day responsibilities involve daily meetings with different teams and supervisors, checking up with each department’s manager, seeing that everything is going smoothly, answering emails from clients and other business partners. Basically, ensuring every element of our company is running smoothly, while giving feedback on all the ways certain things can be improved.

How have you evolved as a CEO and leader over time, and what have been some of the biggest lessons you've learned along the way?

Absolutely. You have to evolve and adapt as an entrepreneur in order for your business to survive. Stagnation and complacency are a death sentence. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is just how important it is to listen to your team. Being open to feedback and constructive criticism is a crucial part of growing and improving yourself and the company you built. That, and some of the best ideas we’ve implemented came from listening to employees from different teams.

As a CEO, I’ve also learned how to balance short-term and long-term goals. I came to realize that’s crucial for my success as a leader and makes all the difference in achieving the desired outcome. I avoid the status quo and am willing to adapt and pivot as needed.

What is your company's approach to innovation, and how do you foster a culture of creativity and experimentation among your team?

This ties back to my previous answer. You have to encourage an atmosphere of collaboration and open-mindedness. We do weekly brainstorming sessions where each team member is expected to contribute and give ideas on how to improve the company. I try to attend as many as possible to give my input, as well as hear what my team can bring to the table.

Innovation is crucial for software companies to stay up-to-date and meet the ever-changing needs of the customer. We always start with an audit of our current status and what has changed in the software development market in the past months. That’s how we identify where we stand in terms of innovation, areas that need improvement, and opportunities for growth.

How does your technical organization work with the other operational components of the company?

The way they work is that they ensure all technical aspects of the bespoke software development are operating properly and give regular updates to the other departments to let them know how things are coming along. We are a young tech-savvy team, so we get along quite well. In addition, I encourage building relationships with other departments to ensure that everyone is working toward the same goals. It may sound a bit cliche but good communication is key when you’re building and growing a company.

As you’ve probably already gathered, AI is the biggest hot-button topic in the industry at the moment. It has the potential to be a very useful tool, especially when it comes to coding and software development. We’ve already started making plans on how we can integrate AI into our workflow to make it more efficient and automated. It’s just too much of a valuable tool to ignore, especially when it comes to staying ahead of the curve.

What is your company's stance on data privacy and security, and how do you ensure that customer information is protected?

Data privacy and security is treated with utmost importance here at Dreamix. It’s essential that we protect the privacy of our client’s information. We are completely transparent with our Privacy Policy, which can be found on our site and details exactly how we handle customer’s information. We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards. We only provide articles and information. We never ask for credit card numbers.

We use regular Malware Scanning. We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

Do your technical teams or do you use log analysis as part of your role? If you do, how do you find this helps day-to-day operations?

Yes, absolutely. They are a crucial part of our routine and workflow. They ensure that every single project is being monitored and that everything is running smoothly and according to plan.

What can we hope to see from your business in the future?

More amazing partnerships and collaborations with different businesses and companies, where we hope to demonstrate the excellence of our services as a bespoke software development company.

We’re constantly aiming to provide higher value for our partners, and we’ll continue to do so. We don’t just write amazing code, we manage entire digital transformations for our clients—dev, process improvement, and end-to-end product development.

Can you tell us what book you are reading currently?

I am currently reading “Play Nice But Win: A CEO's Journey from Founder to Leader” by Michael Dell. The book is basically the inside story of the battles that defined him as a leader. As someone who is in a similar position, I find the book to be an invaluable source of information and inspiring real-life storytelling from a renowned business leader.
